When Family Photos Feel Like a Total Nightmare (But You Still really want them)

Does the thought of organising family photos make you want to vomit?

You can already picture it, right? Your kids going absolutely feral. Climbing walls like monkeys, running in every direction, hanging upside down off whatever they can find, possibly eating dirt, too. The whole thing feels like guaranteed chaos. And you’re just stressed to the max, wondering why you thought this was a good idea in the first place.

So it ends up feeling too hard. Too overwhelming. Too much.

And yet, deep down, you still want those photos.

Of course you do. We all do.

Because despite the chaos, despite the unpredictability, despite the very real possibility that nothing will go to plan, there’s something incredibly important about capturing your family as they are. Because the wild, bat-shit crazy, unpredictable stuff? That’s exactly what’s worth documenting.

After more than 12 years of working with families, I can honestly say there’s nothing I haven’t seen. Siblings having full-blown punch-ons. Toddlers in the middle of hysterical tantrums. Kids who don’t sit still for more than three seconds. Overtired little ones crying their hearts out. High energy chaos from start to finish.

And you know what?

It’s alllll goooooood.

Family photos were never meant to be perfect. And neither are the people in them.

The magic isn’t in everyone sitting still, smiling perfectly at the camera. It’s in the realness. The personality. The energy. The movement. The beautifully imperfect moments that actually reflect your life.

So you don’t need to worry about being judged by me. If anything, I’m probably having a quiet giggle and am fully embracing the chaos - and so should you. Because bat-shit crazy is more than welcome here. In fact, it makes everything more fun.

So if you’ve been putting it off, then this is your invitation to now pick a date, lock it in and make it happen.

Your beautifully chaotic, wonderfully imperfect family deserves photos, too.

I’m ready to take photos of your family in Toowoomba, Brisbane or anywhere you want me.
