I don’t expect you to know what to do (really)
If you’ve ever put off booking a family photo session because you weren’t sure what to do or how it would go, I get it.
It’s so common to feel like you need to show up knowing how to pose, where to stand, or what to do with your hands. That you need to have it all together - the outfits, the smiles, the perfect behaviour from your kids.
And I think a lot of people assume that’s what I expect too.
But I don’t.
I don’t expect you to know what to do.
Not one bit.
You don’t need to feel confident in front of the camera.
You don’t need to plan the perfect shot list.
You don’t need your kids to act like angels.
You just need to show up as yourselves. That’s it.
My approach to family photography is calm, real, and connection-focused. I work with families across Australia, capturing the honest, in-between moments that tell the story of your family.
I’m not here for stiff posing or forced smiles. This is about natural family photography that feels easy and true. Whether we’re shooting in your backyard, at a local park, or in your home, I’ll guide you the whole way. I’ll help you feel comfortable, give direction when needed, and leave plenty of room for your kids to just be themselves.
The kind of photos I take? They’re the ones you look back on and say, “That’s exactly what life felt like back then.”
And you’re not the only one who feels unsure before a shoot - most families do. But afterwards, I hear the same thing again and again:
"That felt so much easier than I imagined."
"You made us feel so comfortable."
"That just felt like us."
So if you’ve been thinking about booking a family photo session in Brisbane or Toowoomba, but you’re hesitating because it all feels a bit intimidating, I promise, you’re not alone.
I don’t expect you to know how to do this - that’s what I’m here for.
You just bring your people. I’ll take care of the rest.
